Abandoned Building Photography

Update: This building has now been demolished.

I still haven't been able to take new photos yet, (which is a pity, as the ragdoll isn't far from finished)
so I wanted to do a post featuring some photos I took of an abandoned building I visited some months ago.

This is Daniell's buildings, a two storey building with three shops in the lower storeys.
It is in the Wairarapa region of New Zealand.
A strong smell of must emenates from it. All the shops in question moved.
It is 91 years old, was built in 1925, and has had multiple earthquakes over the course of history.
It has been condemned since investigation after a 6.2 magnitude earthquake in early 2014, and yet it still stands today.

A closer look at those windows.

Then I tried to get a look at the inside of the shops. It's hard to see in the photos, due to reflections.

Above, the tailor shop. You can see all sorts of mould and water damage.

This notice was on the door.

My friend Annie took the pictures of the shop windows. That's her reflection you see.
It appears to have the same notice on the door.
As these photos were taken months ago, I do not recall what part of the building had this wood, but it does look pretty bad.

Shock Ink was/is a shop that sold prints and shirts with creepy goth rock art, and a place where one
could get tattoos done. They've moved and seem to be doing fine.
According to a local news article, somebody was getting a tattoo done at the time of the 2014 earthquake.

There's a lot of plaster bits in there.

The building also has some really nice graffiti work on the other sides.
These pictures were done for the Trade Aid, a shop run by a non-profit fair trade association.
The pictures must be pretty old, because the Trade Aid shop moved years before the 2014 earthquake.

This is what the back of the building looks like. Several of the windows are broken.

There is a lot of broken glass around this window area.

Can anyone tell me whose face this is?

The back windows. One appears to be partially open.

Thank you for looking at this, I hope you found it interesting.
