Ragdoll Progress Update

Hello there. I am still around, and still working on projects.

I apologise for the lack of photos for this post. A minion dropped the camera in the toilet and I don't have a replacement yet. (Yes, that did really happen.)

Anyway, I've started on the face embroidery, and am actually enjoying it.
I'm suprised at how well it's turned out, this being my first try. I'll try to get some photos in the next post.

Ruby Gloom Progress Update

This is sort of the first proper handstitching I've tried, and I'm suprised at how nicely it turned out.

Annie drew the face for me. This is hopefully the way the face will turn out when it's finished.
In the meantime, I'd better practice embroidery.

See you later when I've made more progress.

Ruby Gloom Ragdoll -Stuffed

Ruby is doing well.

Of course she'll feel better with that seam in the back of the head sewn up... and a face, of course.
I've never tried embroidery before, so I want to practice on something else first.

I found another project to start on after this. My friend Annie wanted a Wednesday Addams dress, and is currently on the hunt for a suitable pattern. She'll make a very good Wednesday.
I'm more of a Morticia fan, but a girl has to be Wednesday Addams at least once before she turns eighteen.

Ragdoll Progress

I've completed most of the body, and I must say I've had fun doing it.

I took some photos of the desk
Here are the patterns being cut out.

This is how it looks now that I've sewn most of the seams.
As it is now, we have some idea of how it will look when stuffed.

Next is the arms and head.

Takes me back to when I was experimenting with golems. Ah, memories.

See you later when I've made more progress.

An Introduction

Hello. I am Lord Destructo Von Evilus Trollicus Badazz Xanthosaurus.

I am not only an aspiring Evil Overlord, but also a doll collector with sewing as a hobby.
Admittedley I am somewhat a beginner, but hopefully I will improve over time.
I'm mostly interested in sewing for my dolls, and a friend of mine who says only really tough guys are secure enough in their masculinity to sew dresses for their friends.
Challenge accepted, Annie.

I'll start by introducing the dolls that will appear on this blog the most often.

Lydia Green, the kleptomaniacal Middie size Blythe.

Raven Queen and Maddie Hatter, from Ever After High.

And from the same line, Cerise Hood. I haven't done a proper photoshoot for her yet, but I hope the words 'modification' spark your interest. My aforementioned friend is an artist, and she painted Cerise's ears to look sufficiently wolfy.

Let me tell you about my latest sewing project. I recently became interested in a delightful cartoon called Ruby Gloom, and thought she would look great as a ragdoll.

So I dug up an old Betsy Mccall pattern and some fabric.

See you later when I've made some progress. :)
